Hugh Grant is a much admirable actor. His brilliant work on the big screen simply proves how hard-working of an actor he is. Renowned for starring in numerous superhit movies, the Sense and Sensibility actor has worked with several top-rated stars as well, including Sarah Jessica Parker, for one to count.
After the release of his rom-com Did You Hear About the Morgans? Grant revealed in an interview how he feels about his co-star in the movie, Sarah Jessica Parker, calling her out on her eating habits.
Hugh Grant Was Freaked Out by Sarah Jessica Parker
Hugh Grant has worked with many A-listed stars throughout his nearly 41-year-old career in the film industry. One of these includes the Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker, who starred opposite him in his $85M box-office disaster movie, Did You Hear About the Morgans?
Following the release of their disastrous rom-com, Grant revealed in an interview how he truly felt about working with Parker, his co-star in the movie. Talking about his experience working with the Sex and the City actress, Hugh Grant said,
“I liked her in ‘Extreme Measures’, but I really love her now. We bonded incredibly well on this film, mainly because we’re both so nervous, especially at the beginning. We were united in fear. I find her funny and eccentric. She has strange appetites. I’ve never seen anyone eat like that. You can put anything in front of her and it’s gone in four seconds. She’s half-woman, half-locust. And she’s tiny. It’s freakish.”
As it turns out, the 62-year-old actor was freaked enough about Sarah Jessica Parker‘s weird appetites and her physical build that he couldn’t help but call her out on it.
Hugh Grant ‘Hates’ Romantic Comedies
While Hugh Grant has starred in eight romantic comedies throughout his career with nearly all of them having a 4+ rating out of 5, it would be a shock to fans when they find out that the Sense and Sensibility actor actually hates rom-com movies ‘in many ways’. Explaining what he truly hates about rom-coms, Grant said,
“Well, a bad romantic comedy is a terrible thing. There are two things you need to make a good one. One, is it’s got to be properly funny, the writer has to actually have talent. The other thing is the romantic element has to be real and not phony. Often these things are cooked up in a Hollywood oven and it doesn’t work unless the person who wrote it actually means it.”
But even after not liking romantic comedies, Hugh Grant has a considerable share of superhit rom-com movies out of the at least 50 movies that he has starred in.
You can watch Did You Hear About the Morgans? on Prime Video.
