The mere thought of Hugh Jackman reminds us of Wolverine. Whenever we talk about the best casting choices in Hollywood, Hugh’s Logan always finds its way up at the top of the list. Even though Jackman is a charming sweetheart in real life, he had flawlessly got under the skin of Wolverine. While we never stop going gaga over him, most of us have little idea about his sufferings on the sets of the X-Men franchise.  The actor never let the pain show on his face but his costar recently shared what he went through. During a recent interview, Anna Paquin shed some light upon Jackman’s excruciating experience behind the scenes.

The Oscar-winning actress starred alongside Hugh Jackman in “X-Men” as Rogue. Just like their characters, both Hugh and Anna had become close friends on the sets. During her interview, Anna couldn’t stop endorsing her costar. She said, “Hugh was the person I was always closest with because I had all my scenes with him,”. Anna continued “He is still a lovely, gracious human being.”

As his closest pal, Anna could always sense what Jack was going through, even though he never expressed it. She explained that the actor was put through back to back stunts which seemed pretty hurtful.  “He got put through the wringer on that first one and never ever complained,” she said. “It’s minus 40 [degrees] and he’s being dropped off some building onto his back over and over and over again. And still has all the time in the world to be a nice, normal person.”

Paquin felt bad for the actor after watching him undergo this much physical torment. She also recalled some good moments from the set. Anna shared how thrilled she was to help Wolverine with the cigar while his claws were out. She said, “I did have to pick cigar out of his teeth because he couldn’t do it with his claws [out] without causing personal damage.”

Anna Paquin made her Hollywood debut at the age of 11 when she appeared in a film called “ The Piano”. She had started enjoying stardom at a very young age with several blockbusters. But the actress rose to prominence after starring in “X-Men”. This is the place from where she developed an amazing friendship with Hugh Jackman. Being the best pal that she was, Anna saw through him and realized what it was like to play the Wolverine.
