In Hugh Jackman’s case, however, the condition is so bad that his vision is completely blurry when he is not wearing his contact lenses. As per trivia on IMDB, Jackman couldn’t even read the cue cards while hosting certain events! The trivia revealed that while hosting the Tony Awards, the actor had to memorize the entire script.

Not only that but while he was hosting Saturday Night Live, the actor had to resort to his memory in the hopes that he wouldn’t fumble. Hugh Jackman had to memorize the entire script for Saturday Night Live as well as the Tony Awards to counter his medical condition. What’s more harrowing is the fact that he has to do intensive training for his role as Wolverine.

While in peak condition, Jackman can bench press well above 300 pounds, or 136 kgs to strengthen his muscular body. Despite having such strength, his blurry vision and short-sightedness cannot be cured without surgery.

Back in 2017, Jackman starred in Logan which marked the end of his reign as Wolverine. Although the actor will come back in Deadpool 3, various theories ascertain that it would be a Wolverine from a different universe. In a Q&A conversation with Yahoo! Movies, Jackman talked about one actor who could have portrayed the role of a young Wolverine.

Originally, when I played it [first], when he was alive, God rest his soul, I thought Heath Ledger could be a good young version of [Wolverine]. It would be a little weird [seeing someone else as Wolverine]. I know it’s going to happen.”

Well, let’s hope that Hugh Jackman is not going to pass the baton anytime soon as he will appear as Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool in Deadpool 3 in 2024. It could be a possibility that the 2024 movie could very well be the last time we see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine! Deadpool 3 is slated for a release on 26 July, 2024 in theaters across the U.S.
