If there is one thing all of us entertainment fanatics can agree on is that Hugh Jackman has one of the most drool-worthy, Greek god-like physiques out there. Even at the age of fifty-four, his fitness does not seem to be taking the back seat. Instead, Hugh Jackman has made it pretty clear that Deadpool 3 will see him in better shape than he ever was in, even in his much younger days.

While he has been accused of using enhancing substances to his benefit, this is not the topic of discussion at hand. Apparently, in order to become the jacked-up Wolverine, Hugh Jackman eats about eight thousand calories in a day! However, is the number just a bit of an exaggeration? After all, eight thousand calories are no joke!

It’s pretty common to eat more than your comfort zone when it comes to building muscles and bulking up. However, how many calories are too many calories? While usually, about four thousand calories would be the norm, when it comes to Hugh Jackman, things are a bit different for him. He recently posted his meals for the day on Twitter which consisted of a total of six boxes. Since the boxes were marked with the number of calories they contained, it seems like Jackman eats more than eight thousand calories in a day!

Eating 8,000 calories is not an easy task and there is a high chance that the total number is nothing but an exaggeration. The number of calories you would need to bulk up can easily be determined by taking your height and weight into consideration, and if you know your body fat percentage then that’s an added benefit. Life Hacker took the liberty of calculating the number of calories Jackman would need on a minimum, to bulk up. While it’s definitely not an exact number, the actor needs about four thousand calories according to the website.

The calories he posted on his Twitter, though, are double this number. So if 8,000 calories aren’t an exaggeration and Jackman really does engulf all that, how bulked up is he actually trying to get? Jonathan Majors, the new antagonist of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, apparently ate 4,000 calories for Creed III. Is Jackman on his way to leave Majors biting the dust? Ryan Reynolds better watch out because if it’s true, his co-star is going to be in one hell of a shape!

Jackman became a part of the Broadway show, The Music Man. While on The Late Show, the actor talked to host Stephen Colbert about the number of calories he ate every day to bulk up for the Broadway show. He stated,

“I’m building up. I’m on about 4,500-5000 calories at the moment. I wore a heart rate monitor [on the show] because my trainer said, ‘I need to know what I’m working with here, because I am trying to bulk you up.’ I burned 1,500 calories in the show, eight times a week. So she goes, ‘Oh, you gotta eat.” So I was eating 4,500 calories a day. It was not pretty. Now I am just eating and training.”

Jackman had also stated in an interview that after The Music Man, he is just going to be focusing on sculpting his body for Deadpool 3. While going from five thousand to eight thousand calories might seem an easy task, it most certainly is not!

Deadpool 3 is set to release on November 08, 2024.
