Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter, has finally begun working on the new chapters of the Hunter x Hunter manga. The mangaka shared a post confirming the completion of Chapter 405. He even shared another tweet, claiming that he has started working on the next chapter.
Togashi has been on an indefinite hiatus for a few years because of his health, but his finally starting again indicates that the mangaka’s health might be improving. Fans are still worried about the creator’s health and have been wishing for his speedy recovery as the mangaka once again starts Gon’s journey with new chapters.
However, recently, another mangaka has shown interest in Togashi’s work and has expressed his concerns about his health. The mangaka is none other than Makoto Yukimura, the creator of the popular manga and anime series Vinland Saga. The creator responded to another tweet that compared his and Togashi’s work and agreed to the fact that he would never be able to reach Togashi’s level.
Yoshihiro Togashi Starts Working on Hunter x Hunter Chapter 406
Hunter x Hunter went on an indefinite hiatus after the release of Chapter 400 in 2023 because of the declining health of Yoshihiro Togashi. Fans were not only worried about the mangaka’s health but also about the future of Hunter x Hunter. However, a few days ago, the mangaka surprised the Hunter x Hunter fanbase with an X (formerly Twitter) post claiming that he had begun working on chapter 405 of the manga.
And now Togashi shared another update where he tweeted about working on Chapter 406 of Hunter x Hunter, indicating that he is done with Chapter 405.

This is definitely good news for fans because the mangaka’s continuous work on chapter one after another hints that Togashi’s health might be getting better.
As soon as the mangaka shared the tweet about him working on the next installment of Hunter x Hunter, fans assembled to express their excitement for the series, as well as share concerns about Togashi’s health issues.

Fans have seen Togashi continuously working on a bunch of chapters together and then taking a hiatus because of his declining health multiple times. This is why fans have asked him to take it easy this time.
Makoto Yukimura Expresses Concern About Yoshihiro Togashi
Hunter x Hunter fans are not the only ones who are worried about Togashi’s health. Vinland Saga’s creator, Makoto Yukimura, was also recently seen expressing concerns about the mangaka’s wellness. This happened when Yukimura was compared to Togashi by an individual on X.
Yukimura recently shared a tweet expressing gratitude to the fans who loved the Vinland Saga play. However, a fan claimed that Yukimura would never be able to reach Togashi’s level as a manga creator.
I know. He's a really great mangaka! I heard that he is not feeling well. I'm worried about it.
— 幸村誠 (@makotoyukimura) May 4, 2024
Instead of getting angry, Yukimura gently accepted the fact that he couldn’t be compared to a great creator like Togashi.
Yukimura even pointed out that he heard that the mangaka was not feeling well and that he was worried about Togashi. Yukimura’s concern has prompted fans to think that he might be the perfect individual to look after Togashi and his work.
