Angelina Jolie shared that she was drawn in by the script of Mr. & Mrs. Smith because of her two failed marriages. The superstar shared that the intriguing storyline of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, where the married couple tried to kill each other, grabbed her attention because she had experienced two failed marriages in her life. The Salt star was married to Billy Bob Thornton (2000–2003) and Jonny Lee Miller (1996–1999) in the past. However little did Jolie know that this same film would set the precursor for her third divorce.

The Changeling star got a chance to get to know the Interview with the Vampire star through this film and the duo started dating each other, grabbing significant attention from the public. Jolie even hinted at her relationship with the Troy star back then by stating that she usually falls in love while working on a film.

Angelina Jolie On Realizing Her Feelings For Brad Pitt

The Girl, Interrupted star shared in an interview that the entry of Brad Pitt in her life came as a shock even to her. Jolie stated that working on the Mr. & Mrs. Smith together with Pitt gave her an opportunity to get understand him well. The duo started as friends but then realized their feelings for each other were fueled by their desire to spend maximum time together.

“Because of the film we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened. I think a few months in I realized, God, I can’t wait to get to work. Whether it was shooting a scene or arguing about a scene or gun practice or dance class or doing stunts—anything we had to do with each other, we just found a lot of joy in it together and a lot of real teamwork. We just became kind of a pair. And it took until, really, the end of the shoot for us, I think, to realize that it might mean something more.”
