Shinsaku Kozuma has praised a bunch of people for Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, but the one that he believed solely carried the new season is none other than Shota Goshozono. He mentioned that the producers did a fantastic job, but Goshozono gets the credit for the extra work that he pulled off. He said, Director Goshozono is amazing. Without his talent, there would not have been a second season of Jujutsu Kaisen. I am grateful.”

After season one, Sunghoo Park left the role of director to focus on his E&H Production. Goshozono took over the position and motivated everyone to finish the season. Apart from taking care of all the members and the work, he also directed a few episodes, including the season finale. Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 director gave his best even though the anime was on the verge of collapsing due to the MAPPA crisis.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 ended with Yuta Okkotsu vowing to kill Yuji Itadori. The Culling Games arc will be interesting, considering it is the most important arc of the anime. But the fans would definitely like an improvement in the MAPPA controversy. The animators were made to work under hellish conditions. MAPPA made them work overtime and did not pay them much, and on top of that, it did not allow them any leave.

Due to such circumstances, it was difficult for the animators to work, and at one point, it looked like the season would not reach its finale. But thanks to Shota Goshozono, it achieved what seemed to be impossible and ended up being one of the best anime of 2023. There were streaming delays and unfinished episodes, but the director pulled it off. Shinsaku Kozuma also mentioned that whatever praise Goshozono received would never be enough for what he helped do. He and the fans expect Shota Goshozono to return for Jujutsu Kaisen’s next season.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available on Crunchyroll for streaming.
