In her interview with the magazine’s Jonathan Van Meter, the actress opened up about what makes super-stardom so tricky.

“I’m just really starting to feel like a monkey in a zoo,” Lawrence told Van Meter. “I teeter on seeming ungrateful when I talk about this, but I’m kind of going through a meltdown about it lately. All of a sudden the entire world feels entitled to know everything about me, including what I’m doing on my weekends when I’m spending time with my nephew. And I don’t have the right to say, ‘I’m with my family.'”

Remembering the old days, the period which was a rise in her fame, the X-Men actress felt rugged looking back at that part of her life. The 32-year-old recalled at the London Film Festival’s Screen Talk series:

“I think I lost a sense of control,”

“Between The Hunger Games coming out and winning the Oscar, I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group decision.”

She claimed that her high-profile acting career had robbed her of freedom. Also, she regrets being unable to hang out in coffee shops anymore, as the fans keep hounding her.

“It feels personal for me the first time in a long time.”

Causeway is the tale of Lynsey, a soldier struggling to reunite with life following her return home to New Orleans—resonated with Lawrence. Unlike the big action movies she’s performed in previously, Lawrence wanted to dive into a slow-burn drama.

Causeway is a co-production between A24 and Apple TV+. The film was released on Apple TV+ on the same day of its release in theaters.
