In an interview with the Telegraph, she shared,

“It was a scene where my character becomes submerged in water and trapped, so I go down in the water expecting it’s probably not going to be warm but I will at least be dry.”

However, the suit failed to serve its purpose as she shared,

“After about 10 seconds the suit is totally full of water.”

She continued to explain her then-situation,

“I don’t know what’s happening or why, but everybody is hurting and cold so I don’t say anything about it and wonder, ‘How long can this last?”

She knew that her condition was not great at the time which is why she was having doubts about whether it will end up for real for her.

“Well, it did last and I became tingly and couldn’t feel anything and things were starting to get a bit hazy around the edges.”

She eventually decided to take action as she thought she would die in that condition.

“I thought Chris [Christopher Nolan] is going to be way more annoyed if I die of hypothermia than he is if I speak up about it and maybe delay filming for five minutes.”

She eventually informed the director about her scenario and later found out that the zip at the back of her suit was open before she went into the water. This was why the incident happened to her back then.

While it was a scary experience for her, with everyone’s hard-core efforts, the film grossed over $773 million with subsequent re-releases and became one of the best sci-fi films of all time.
