The 45-year-old actor, Tom Hardy made his film debut in the 2001 film, Black Hawk Down. While his first role as SPC Lance Twombly did not have much screentime, he made sure to give in his best efforts. Despite being a newbie, he opened up about begging to let his character depart in an iconic way. His demands were fulfilled as the actor shared,

 “I begged them to blow me up…Any time that anyone wants to blow me up—I’d do it again, it was great.”

His character was eventually blown up with the actor leaving no chance to skip a chance from getting an adrenaline rush. Despite the risky blastoff, the actor opened up about respecting his character. For the unversed, Twombly was a real warrior who went through horrifying combat in real life.

After the filming wrapped up, he visited him in Montana to ensure that he respected his character as much as he respected the person. Starring Josh Hartnett in the main role, the film had an ensemble cast with the movie being a modest success which grossed $173 million worldwide.
