After Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling paired up for the rom-com Crazy, Stupid, Love in 2011, the former felt an unspoken connection with the Barbie star. Denoting the same, the 35-year-old actress opened up about her “special” and “wonderful” bond with Gosling at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado. Emma Stone admitted in 2018,

“I can’t even imagine what my life would be without Ryan. He’s so special. It makes me emotional. He’s so talented but he’s such a great person to work with because he’s so collaborative and excited about the process. He’s taught me a lot about being really generous.”

In another instance, the Cruella star also recalled Gosling’s audition for their pair-debut film, Crazy, Stupid, Love. She spoke of an “unspoken understanding” that blossomed the moment the 43-year-old actor stepped in, per US Weekly. Similarly, Stone shared how her bond with Gosling brings out the best in them, in scenes, allowing them to also improvise effectively.

Producer Dan Fogelman also reminisced about the Stone-Gosling magic by sharing a post on X. In 2021, Fogelman unveiled the highly improvised scene in the 2011 film, when both the actors fall in love in bed. Marking a decade of the scene, the 47-year-old recalled how he was not in agreement with the improvisation. He stated,

“My favorite scene is Gosling and Emma falling in love in bed. All improvised. I thought everyone had lost their minds and that none of it would be in the movie – I left set early, irritated. I’m a dope.”

However, after playing lovers in La La Land, Hollywood has not set them up together again yet. The actors have continuously joked about doing another set of movies together but don’t know if the creators would agree, simply because they have so much fun.

Gosling recently made headlines with his impeccable portrayal of Ken in the billion-dollar blockbuster Barbie this year whereas Stone broke a record by appearing on SNL for the fifth time, joining the Five-Timers Club, per People. Nevertheless, fans would not mind another Stone-Gosling starrer, watching them flaunt their on-screen chemistry anytime in the future.
