The Saturday Night Live alum has also proven his prowess in acting, as evident in his small screen appearances such as Sober Companion, Friends of the People, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Davidson would later star in his first major feature film, The King of Staten Island.

Pete Davidson Turned Down A Dinner With Jack Nicholson

Pete Davidson’s fame has also reached the radar of veteran and high-profile celebrities. This opened up an opportunity for him to finally meet and sit down with illustrious figures such as the likes of Lorne Michaels, Jon Hamm, and Jack Nicholson. Who would have thought the SNL star would get invited to join these A-list people for dinner?

While most movie buffs would seize the chance to rub elbows with Nicholson, Davidson shockingly refused. He thought the actor would only get the impression that he’s just a “dumb pot-head.” He told The Howard Stern Show:

We were in LA, and he was having dinner with Jack Nicholson and Jon Hamm right, and he was like, ‘Would you like to come?’ and I was like, ‘No.’

Davidson clarified why he declined the generous offer, and a huge chunk of the reason was the fear that his idol would think poorly of him. The comedian continued:

What am I gonna do? You guys are gonna have conversations about stuff you could relate with, and I’m gonna be like, ‘Hey, what was the Cuckoo’s Nest like?’ I can’t live with Jack Nicholson hating me.”

The young actor would later add that Nicholson would end up thinking, “Why is the dumb pot-head at our billion-dollar table?

Hopefully, in the future, Davidson will eventually find the courage to meet Nicholson and talk to him about things that both of them can relate.

Meeting one’s heroes is not always a pleasurable experience. Sometimes they fail to meet our expectations, and more often than not, they differ from the ones people conceived in their minds.

Pete Davidson’s case is no different; he and Jack Nicholson come from different backgrounds, and their interests would probably not match. As the comedian admitted, he did not know what he would say once he sat at the table.

While the Meet Cute actor is an incredibly witty performer, a dinner party with three high-profile Hollywood figures would be too much to handle. Even Howard Stern agreed with Davidson and recounted the times he was also in the same situation.
