Quentin Tarantino’s films have a special place for Brad Pitt, given that a slew of these films have served as high points for the actor’s career. Be it Once Upon A Time in Hollywood or Inglorious Basterds, even the highlight of these films has been Brad Pitt’s performances.

However, Tarantino seems to have taken a while to convince Pitt to take up the role of Aldo Raine, the Nazi killing, American Lieutenant in Inglorious Basterds. It allegedly took the Kill Bill director to go through five bottles of wine to finally convince the Mr. and Mrs. Smith alum to join the cast of his revisionist World War II film.

Brad Pitt first got a taste of working with Quentin Tarantino when the actor appeared in True Romance, a film that was written by Quentin Tarantino, way back in 1993. Pitt would then want to act in a Tarantino film, which would be Inglorious Basterds in 2009. Speaking to CNN about how he thought about Brad Pitt for the role, he said:

I wrote a little bit more and thought Brad would be terrific. By the time I got towards the end, I felt he would be perfect but became worried I wouldn’t get him.

Tarantino Would go ahead and down 5 bottles of wine at Pitt’s estate, where he was staying with then-wife Angelina Jolie. The actor would go on to star in the role of Aldo Raine, which would receive a lot of critical and audience praise.

The Movie Critic would have served as Brad Pitt’s third collaboration with Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino’s final film, The Movie Critic, might have eventually started out as a 1970s period film but evolved into a spin-off of his previous blockbuster film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. However, the film was shelved earlier this year, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter.

There are a slew of other films that could take the place of The Movie Critic, given the various films that Tarantino has been attached to throughout his career, but have not seen the light of day. Perhaps the director will finally finish his historical revisionist trilogy, one that includes Django Unchained and The Inglorious Basterds. However, The Movie Critic could still be a go, as Tarantino himself has not yet commented on it.

However, there are a ton of unrealized projects that Tarantino has that could get another shot at being made. Tarantino is very particular about the movies he makes and has a set idea about the themes he would like to explore through his work. It might take another half a decade, but audiences can rest assured that the next Tarantino film is coming, for sure.
