Scarlett Johansson Believes Social Media is a Waste of Time

In the past few years, the use of social media has grown in almost every field, especially for entertainment. This has led to superstars from all over the world having a presence on social media to stay in touch with their fans. But Marvel star Scarlett Johansson doesn’t feel the same about it.

On The Skinny Confidential Him & Her, the Black Widow star opened up about why social media is not a preference in her life. She described her as a “delicate flower,” saying that her ego is too fragile for all this and would not be able to handle all the comments. 

“I honestly am too fragile a person to have social media. I can’t. My ego is too fragile. My brain is too fragile. I’m like a delicate flower.”

The Lucy star further shared that she finds it only a waste of time, and reading all the comments on social media only makes things worse for her. Johansson also mentioned how she started to feel the urge to change certain things in her life.

The Under the Skin star shared that she noted the same pattern every time she had to use social media for work. She gets totally immersed in it and feels like she wouldn’t be able to do anything without her phone.

Scarlett Johansson Finds Social Media Disturbing

The 38-year-old actress earlier shared that she finds it disturbing how social media platforms are used to victimize celebrities. Johansson, who started her acting career at a young age, claimed that Hollywood stars, including other celebrities, have lost hold of their privacy. The Avengers star also shared that she did not grow up in “the glare of social media.”

She mentioned that she saw stars being chased by the media. However, she also mentioned that things young stars go through nowadays are much more horrible than before. Johansson also shared that she does not believe in giving people access to her private life.

Some of her pictures from her phone were reportedly hacked, after which she asked everyone to respect her privacy. The Ghost in the Shell star said that just like everyone else, an actor, a filmmaker, or anyone in show business, is entitled to their privacy.
