Ever since Henry Cavill was replaced as Superman in James Gunn’s rebooted DCU, his luck has been immensely affected as he was also replaced as Geralt of Rivia by Liam Hemsworth in Netflix’s The Witcher. The news of Cavill being replaced in James Gunn’s DCU sent shockwaves through the DC fandom as the actor was featured in his iconic role in the post-credits scene of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam.

While fans thought that this was the time for Henry Cavill to shine again, Gunn sacked him for a much younger actor, David Corenswet, and fans are infuriated because both actors share an uncanny resemblance. The Enola Holmes actor shared a post stating his retirement from the role, and it looks like he is done with DCU. But it looks like the Marvel fans want the actor on their side, as fan art of him as Captain Britain is going viral on social media.

Henry Cavill’s journey as the Last Son of Krypton officially comes to an end with the Snyderverse, as The Flash has marked the reboot of the entire franchise. With no more commitment to DC or Netflix’s The Witcher, the Night Hunter actor is still a part of a major franchise, as he is preparing himself for Warhammer 40000 for Prime Video. But that’s not all, as the Marvel fans crave him to join their ever-expanding franchise. In the past, Cavill was linked with several characters but was heavily mentioned in relation to one particular character, Captain Britain.

As a result, Subi Özil, an artist on Instagram published a digital art of Henry Cavill as Captain Britain with the caption “@henrycavill as Captain Britain. Still think this should happen.”

A fan commented how casting Henry Cavill as Captain Britain would be the perfect casting for him in Marvel, rather than typecasting him as Sentry or Hyperion.

“Perfect casting, I would love him as Captain Britain. Better than typecasting him as Hyperion or Sentry.”

Another fan said how Marvel should not waste this opportunity, and get it done already.

Henry Cavill Is Open To Play Captain Britain

As per rumors, it was stated that with Cavill’s exit from DC, he is all set to switch ships and join Marvel, potentially making his debut in MCU’s Captain America: Brave New World. While there has been no concrete evidence of Henry Cavill joining Team Red, the possibility of transitioning from DC’s Superman to Marvel’s Captain Britain is a healthy career choice as it will feature him as one of the main faces in the MCU.

Moreover, during an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill stated how he is interested in playing the role, adding how he would love “to do a cool, modernized version” of the character, similar to Evans’ Captain America.

“I have the internet and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that — like the way they modernized Captain America. There’s something fun about that, and I do love being British.”

While there has been no announcement from either side, the addition of the actor in the franchise would be immensely important, as recent Marvel films have not done well. Cavill’s addition to the franchise would not only ensure a promising performance but also a sea of fans helping the film to do well at the box office.
