CEO of Larian Studios, Swen Vincke has hinted they have a project in mind that his team is looking forward to working on. Some rumors and a few hints from Vincke himself have suggested that they might be working on a long-awaited sequel to an award-winning game from seven years ago.
Larian Studios Hint at a New Adventure after Baldur’s Gate 3 success
Swen Vincke dropped an interesting hint in the interview when he was asked about what game the studio is working on next. He said “I can’t tell you” which sparked many speculations among fans and critics. He further explained:
Yeah, I can’t tell you. No, it will have its proper moment. Hopefully nobody’s going to leak it for us, but it’s different than what you think it is, but it is still familiar enough for you to recognize that it’s something that we are making.
This statement has led many fans to believe that Larian Studios is working on a new installment in one of its beloved franchises. Much-awaited Threequel to Divinity: Original Sin 2, which won the BAFTA Games Award for Best Multiplayer in 2018.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 when released also set a high standard for RPGs and combined various traditional elements with modern innovations. Its multiplayer aspects were what made it stand out among all the competition.
If the rumors are true and with Larian Studios’ track record, the sequel will be met with very high expectations. Players have been anticipating a combination of an interesting narrative and an engaging world that can leave them with excitement.
