Hollywood muscle Arnold Schwarzenegger had nothing but love and respect for his training partner Franco Columbu when he passed away in 2019. The duo had first met in 1965 and what was originally a friendship turned out to be a lifelong partnership between Schwarzenegger and Columbu with both of them pushing each other to their limits.

Recalling his bond, Schwarzenegger talked to the people about what it felt like to have a training partner as good as Columbu. Stating that he wouldn’t have thrived without him, The Terminator actor urged his fans to be someone’s training partner.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Wouldn’t Have Thrived Without His Training Partner

Meeting in Stuttgart in Germany in the year 1965, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu forged a lifelong friendship that benefitted both of them. The two bodybuilders became training partners with both of them pushing the other to their limits.

In 2019, Franco Columbu passed away at the age of 78 years. In a heartfelt message penned by Schwarzenegger, the actor attributed his life to Columbu. Stating that he could have lived without money, and without parents, but not without his training partner,  Schwarzenegger lamented the loss of Columbu but also motivated his fans to be someone’s training partner to see what it feels like.

 “I could thrive without money, without my parents, but I couldn’t thrive without you [Franco Columbu].”

In recent times, Schwarzenegger once again talked about the bond between training partners and explained the importance and relevance of a person like that in today’s world.

“There will always be days when we don’t feel our best. On those days, our training partners are there to get us going and keep us moving forward,”

Ending his talks on a motivating note, Arnold Schwarzenegger challenged his 300,000 newsletter subscribers to be someone’s training partner just to see what it feels like.

In his newsletter titled Arnold’s Pump Club, the Governator talked about the motivation that people can give and receive from a training partner. Challenging his subscribers to this task, Schwarzenegger stated that once they start, they will become addicted to helping each other out.

“I think that you’ll find that going out of your way to help someone else helps you, and you’ll become addicted to giving back and spreading positivity like me,”

Being 75 years of age, Schwarzenegger still maintains his high-profile physique and even continues to appear in upcoming movies and series. The actor is currently attached to 4 upcoming projects including a rumored reprisal of his iconic character of Conan in The Legend of Conan.
