While he may be tardy to the party, Robert Downey Jr. has recently taken the initiative to use his influence and popularity for the betterment of the world as much as he can, which is why we have recently seen the star being associated with so many projects towards that goal.
Most recently, we have come to know of a major plan of his to make the world a better place that involves the use of the essential morning beverage known as coffee.
Almost a month and a half ago, we saw the star, along with entrepreneur Craig Dubitsky, launch a new coffee brand named Happy Coffee Company, which aimed at providing high-quality coffee to the public to start their day strong.
Along with that, the brand also focuses on the betterment of mental health as a whole which even RDJ claims helped him, and which is why it also took the initiative towards realizing that goal.
Robert Downey Jr. Claims Coffee Helps Him Keep A Level Head
With the dynamic nature of his performances as well as the offbeat and quirky nature of the star himself, it’s quite easy to forget that Robert Downey Jr. is human, just like the rest of us. And just like all of us, he needs a good start to his day to get all the important things that need to get done, which is why a cup of coffee is his preferred method of doing so.
The star attributes his control of his mind to the power of coffee, which is why earlier this year, the star decided to debut his brand of the beverage in partnership with entrepreneur Craig Dubitsky named Happy Coffee Company.
In an interview with People, the Oscar-winning star revealed that coffee was more than a drink to wake him up in the morning every day as it helped him get a clear mind and focus on the tasks at hand. He said:
“I roll out of bed, I hit my knees. I have one of several prayers, usually of gratitude or just being like, ‘Please let me stay out of my way.’ And then I roll downstairs for coffee, I credit coffee, in part, for my sanity.”
How Robert Downey Jr. Is Helping Raise Awareness Of Mental Health Issues Through His Coffee Brand
While coffee is essential to start with a good morning, the entire industry is worth $28 Billion, and unlike many of its competitors, the brand seeks to take the route of mental health as one of its environmentalist initiatives.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, it was also revealed that the brand has partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness to aid support and propagate public awareness on the topic of mental health and wellness. The company said:
“Existing brands have focused on geography, energy or tradition, and newer brands seem to focus on esoteric niches. Coffee is supposed to simply be something delicious we love and enjoy.”
Thus, the co-founders have done everything to stand true to their brand name and design the product all the down to the packaging to leave a positive and healthy impression on the consumers.
