Hollywood actor Steven Yeun, who rose to prominence playing the role of Glenn Rhee in the post-apocalyptic horror drama The Walking Dead, has shared that he has no desire to return to the show. Starting with the very first season, Yeun’s Glenn Rhee grew to become one of the central characters in the series until he was killed by Negan in the season 7 premiere episode. The show has since continued and was concluded after 11 seasons in November 2022.
However, talking about his possible return to the show ahead of its finale, the Nope actor declined any possibilities, saying that that chapter of his life is slammed shut and barricaded.

Steven Yeun Had No Plans to Return to The Walking Dead
During an appearance on Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, Steven Yeun talked about the possibility of reprising his role as Glen Rhee in the AMC TV series’ final season. Premiered in October 2010, The Walking Dead ran for 11 seasons throughout the next decade.
However, Yeun’s journey in the series came to an end in season 7. And The Humans actor declined any possibilities of his return to the series during his interview. “The police voice in my head said, ‘If you do it again, you’re a hack,” he said before adding, “So, I don’t do it again. I can’t. I cringe [at the thought].”
He also shared that he was satisfied with the way things turned out for him in the show, and there was no “tension” behind his exit from the series. The host of the podcast also stated that the way his character was killed, there is hardly any possibility for his return.
The Invincible star called it a “blessing[s],” saying that the door to his return in the series was “slammed shut and barricaded.” The Walking Dead concluded almost a year ago, and Yeun did not return to the series finale or its spin-off.
Steven Yeun Stays in Touch With The Walking Dead Co-Stars
Although he had no desire to return to the post-apocalyptic series, the actor has shared that he keeps in touch with his The Walking Dead co-stars. During an interview with Comicbook, he shared that he often talks to “Norman [Reedus] a lot, Jon [Bernthal], Alanna [Masterson],” as he said that they are “really good friends.”
The actor was asked about how his co-stars from the AMC TV series reacted to him joining Jordan Peele’s 2022 science fiction horror film Nope. Yeun shared that there is nothing like “Hey, congratulations” among them as they just talk on a regular basis. “It’s like, ‘Yo, what’s up?” he added.
