Liam Neeson revealed that he didn’t know the story of The Dark Knight Rises before he filmed his cameo. The actor returned to his role as Ra’s al Ghul from Batman Begins, however, he was not given any script or storyline information prior to his one scene.

“[Nolan] takes it to another extreme — I didn’t know I was in the movie,” Neeson once told.

I went and shot a scene for two hours with Christian Bale. There was a set, and Christian was tied up,” Neeson told.

I said, ‘Chris, what am I doing?’ [Nolan said,] ‘Umm well, just walk forward, and say the lines, walk back, and that’ll be it, really.’

I said, ‘What the f**k? Tell me the story!’ [He said,] ‘Umm, I’d prefer not to, really’. ‘Okay, don’t mind me – I’m just an actor!’

Christopher Nolan would simply give him instructions without any explanation. The star was undoubtedly a little bit frustrated by this act.
