Admiral Kizaru’s Heartfelt Scene Broke Down The Fans
Amiral Kizaru was the one who led the Buster Call to the Egghead Island. He entered the battlefield before the Gorosei but was defeated by Gear 5 Monkey D. Luffy. The Admiral had a close connection to Dr. Vegapunk and Bartholomew Kuma, as seen during the latter’s backstory. Most fans thought the Marines only cared about their justice and had no time for feelings.
To some extent, they were right when Kizaru prioritized his duties over his best friend, Dr. Vegapunk, and nephew, Sentomaru. But the leaks from One Piece chapter 1124 featured an emotional breakdown of Borsalino. When Akainu claimed that it was Kizaru’s mistake, the latter could not hide his emotions anymore and shouted at the Fleet Admiral.
He asked him whether Akainu ever had to kill his best friend. Tears were running down his cheeks as memories of Vegapunk and his enjoying together flashed before his eyes. Even Akainu was shocked to see Kizaru shouting at him. After reading the leaks, the fans also found it difficult to cope with the emotional baggage. The latter was a former Marine Admiral who joined the Blackbeard Pirates. Even though Aokiji tried to hide his emotions, it was clear that he was trying to suppress his true feelings.
Even Koby was grief-stricken after Garp’s status changed to unknown. Kuzan also suffered another heartbreak in the past when he almost killed Jaguar D. Saul on Ohara. Unlike Kizaru, he did not kill his friend, but felt the same emotions as Kizaru. Aokiji also formed a close bond with Nico Robin, but his duties came between his feelings again.
One Piece chapter 1124 might glorify Straw Hat Pirates’ victory over the Marines, but fans will feel for Kizaru. Since the Sabaody Archipelago, people have hated him, but they cannot enjoy his downfall after learning about his true feelings.
