His talent is unconditionally beautiful and fans do not fret in admiring just how wonderful of an actor he really is. Alas! Every movie is not successful and he accepts that even if it’s with a grain of salt. One movie’s responses were not as good, especially after it was forced to release on streaming without ever making it to the theatres.

Tom Hanks’ Movie Was Forced To Shift To Streaming

Tom Hanks worked vigorously when it came to the making of Greyhound. The movie had his blood, sweat, and tears and he was not ready to give up even when COVID-19 had shut theatres indefinitely at that time. Although things have greatly settled now, at that time, it was far from okay. To make matters worse, cinemas and theatres were being shut and movies were being delayed or pushed straight to streaming.

One such movie was Hanks’ Greyhound. The film was scheduled to release in theatres but that was not possible. Hence the actor was deeply saddened. That was until AppleTV+ came to the rescue. He even admitted to being deeply indebted to the streaming service. Even with the opportunity presenting itself, he was still heartbroken because the experience that comes with watching movies in theatres would be lost when watching a movie he worked so hard on. However, he looked at the bright side and acknowledged that AppleTV+ gave him the opportunity to present his movie to a much larger audience.

Tom Hanks Was Not Happy With What Was Happening With His Movie

Tom Hanks was taken aback after the plans he and his crew had for his movie completely flipped. No one had anticipated the rise of the pandemic and just how it would impact everyday life. He accepted gradually that the public would not be able to see the movie in the way it was intended to and would be in the comfort of their homes.

“Everybody has something that they can do, and you don’t have to go very far to see the correlations and similarities to the war years.”

Even with the pros presenting themselves, he could not hide his disappointment. The vast cast did not help in the movie’s success and it unfortunately did not make enough. The pandemic affected its earnings primarily and the failure it ensued because of that was inevitable.
