Dragon Ball Super was a great anime with many action sequences and funny moments. The franchise is known for the fights. But one comedy scene surprised the entire fandom. During the Black Goku arc, the fans came to know Goku does not know how to kiss. Even Vegeta was shocked by his fellow Saiyans’ remark.
The Saiyans love to fight. They age slowly compared to humans, and fighting strong opponents makes them evolve as fighters. But one thing they lack is affection. The only thing they are good at is being ruthless and causing destruction. While it seemed to be the biggest flaw of the Saiyans, the Prince of all Saiyans has proved otherwise.
Vegeta Is More Affectionate Than Son Goku
Son Goku was introduced as a kind soul who was willing to do anything to fight strong opponents. But he also cared about his friends. The concept of love was the only thing that was confusing to him. Even when Chi Chi made him promise to marry her, he said yes without knowing anything. On the other hand, Vegeta was a ruthless Saiyan who wanted to capture and destroy other planets. Being the Prince of all Saiyans, he was prideful.
But after coming to Earth, things started to change. He met Bulma, began a professional relationship, fell in love, married her, and started a family. The only thing that is not likely a Saiyan trait is ‘falling in love.’ During an interview with Saikyo Jump, Akira Toriyama was asked whether Vegeta was stranger to Saiyan than Goku since he cared for his family.
I was reading an interview of Toriyama from Saikyō Jump #3, 2014 Goku views his family as simply companions & Vegeta sought help from Bulma, changed his personality, and is now a kinder Saiyan than Goku.

Toriyama sensei answered,
“Vegeta, whose pride had been deeply wounded, sought help from Bulma, and little by little, his ruthless personality changed. Nowadays, you certainly might be able to say that [Vegeta holds his family and wife dear]. On the other hand, Goku might not have a sense of family members like Gohan and Chi-Chi except as one of his companions.”
There have been several instances when Goku’s Saiyan traits got the better of him. He has left his family multiple times to go train for years. He hardly had time for them and was always busy flying off to other places. On the other hand, Vegeta changed for his family.
When Bulma was pregnant with Bulla, he stayed on Earth to take care of her instead of training with Whis. He took his family to an Amusement Park and spent time with them. Even though Vegeta comes around to be arrogant, he might be closer to an Earthling than Goku ever was.
Dragon Ball Super Left The Fans Questioning Goku’s Marriage
Goku loves to train. The only time he spent a long time with his family was the gap between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Apart from being married to Chi Chi, he also fathered two children, Gohan and Goten. But the fans found it confusing when Dragon Ball Super put up a certain issue about Goku. During the Black Goku arc, Future Trunks saved Mai by kissing her. It was the first time Goku saw two people kissing.
Vegeta was surprised to see how Goku never knew what kissing was even though he had two children. It led the fans to share their funny opinions on Reddit. One of them wrote, “You don’t need to kiss a girl to reproduce. I don’t think Goku has ever kissed a girl. Lol.” Several others followed him.

Vegeta is a prideful Saiyan, but he knows that he has a family to protect. He was ready to give it all when Beerus hurt Bulma. On the other hand, Goku seems to care about everything as a whole. It is still great to see Vegeta’s progress since his debut. But Goku not knowing how to kiss is still a mystery to many.
