With her upcoming Disney+ miniseries Secret Invasion at the precipice of release, Emilia Clarke recently ditched her Marvel co-star publically. Portraying the character of G’iah, a shapeshifting Skrull who was last spotted in 2019’s Captain Marvel, Clarke answered a few questions about her fellow MCU star Kit Harington, who is speculated to be the future Black Knight of the Marvel Universe.

During the interview, the British actress was asked about her potential involvement in a Game of Thrones sequel project. Highlighting how Kit Harington’s character might get a series of its own, the interviewer asked if there are any chances that Clarke’s character will appear in it.

In the hearts of Game of Thrones fans, Emilia Clarke’s powerful portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen remains etched forever. However, it seems that Clarke will not be reprising her iconic role in this rumored spin-off.

Clarke replied, “I don’t think so,” but made it clear that she would be watching it for Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow in the franchise. She jokingly added,

“Kit, I love you! I’m going to watch that one because of you, or I am gonna tell you I did. But I won’t be in it. No, I don’t think so.”

Furthermore, the Secret Invasion star playfully added, “I mean he hasn’t called. You know what I mean? Bro, you are my neighbor. Okay?” However, addressing the elephant in the room, Clarke pointed out the obvious reason for her absence from the spin-off: “FYI, you killed me… spoiler alert!”

Well, although Harington has not reached out to Clarke, her return to the spin-off series was anticipated by many.

Undoubtedly, fans might have experienced a tinge of disappointment over Clarke’s absence in the Jon Snow spin-off. Mainly because her impactful portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen has left an indelible mark on the series. One of the highest-grossing franchises, Game of Thrones has earned over $3.1 billion over the years and continues to expand with new narratives and characters.

While owing to her death in the series, it always seemed unlikely for Daenerys to play a significant role in the spinoff, tentatively titled Snow. But there was always a possibility of her appearing in flashbacks or dream sequences.

At a Game of Thrones convention in December, Harington hinted at Jon Snow’s future, indicating that he would reflect on his past actions. He mentioned,

“He’s gotta go back up to the place with all this history and live out his life thinking about how he killed Dany. And live out his life thinking about Ygritte dying in his arms. And live out his life thinking about how he hung Olly, and live out his life thinking about all of this trauma. That’s interesting.”

However, now it’s clear that Clarke would not be donning her iconic wig and gracing the screen again as Daenerys Targaryen. But with Harington reprising the role as Jon Snow, fans are excited to see what the spin-off has to offer in terms of character reappearances and story plots.
