Throughout every actor’s career, they have at least one character that they have portrayed on-screen whom they wish to meet in real life. Turns out fan-favorite singer-songwriter cum actor Lady Gaga does not qualify for that list. Although she hasn’t starred in more than a handful of films throughout her career, she hasn’t come across any of her on-screen characters whom she might want to meet in real life.

The same is true with the woman she portrayed in Ridley Scott’s Gucci biopic, House of Gucci. As it turns out, the 37-year-old actress revealed that she has no interest whatsoever in ever meeting the woman she played in the 2021 drama: Patrizia Reggiani.

Lady Gaga won the lead role in Ridley Scott‘s 2021 Gucci biopic, House of Gucci. However, she doesn’t want to meet the woman she played in the film in real life.

Appearing in an interview with ITV News, the singer shared how she doesn’t want to meet her on-screen character Patrizia Reggiani in real life. She said:

“I don’t want to collude with Patrizia Gucci. I think she wants to drive a famous narrative of herself as a notorious killer and a woman that advised Gucci. And I think what she did was wrong. I think she deeply regrets it.”

However, there is someone from Patrizia Reggiani’s family with whom Gaga sympathizes with.

“If anything, I extend my heart to her daughters. They probably don’t want that but, for what it’s worth, I do care deeply that this must be very painful for them. And as an actress, that’s something I have to reckon with.”

Although Lady Gaga is of the opinion that what Reggiani did was wrong, she also feels that the way the media has portrayed the character is wrong as well.

Lady Gaga Resents The Way The Media Has Portrayed Her House of Gucci Character

During the same interview, Lady Gaga shared the experience of shooting as Patrizia Reggiani and the challenges it brought to her because of her Method Acting.

“Once we started filming, what was challenging was feeling the real-life symptoms of being Patrizia all the time and [going through] what she went through. [She’s] a woman living in a man’s world. You know, you saw the film. You watched it. You know she’s very much an outsider and she’s not of the same class as the Guccis.”

Continuing, she let out how much she resents how the media has portrayed her on-screen character as that of a gold digger.

“I actually really resent this idea that the media talked about her as a gold digger. I think she was really in love and I think she just was always looking for an entry point to try to matter, a way to survive.”

Mentioning how she doesn’t think women should be called gold diggers and hustlers just because “they want to have a better life” and defending her character in House of Gucci at the same time, the Bad Romance singer said:

“This was not about money for her because when they got married, he didn’t have the money. He didn’t have half of Gucci. When she put a hit out on him, they were divorced. So, the financial stakes that people think were there were not, and the love was.”

Turns out though she doesn’t like the decisions her House of Gucci character took and doesn’t want to collude with her because of the same, Lady Gaga also feels sad because of the picture the media has painted of Patrizia Reggiani in the audience’s eyes.
