During her early days as a star, Kate Winslet faced the tough side of Hollywood’s treatment. But now, she’s showing off her resilience and determination in full display.
The 49-year-old actress is not slowing down anytime soon. She is making her television comeback, portraying a character that’s entirely new to her repertoire.
Coming off the success of her HBO limited series Mare of Easttown where she portrayed Detective Mare Sheehan (a role that earned her an Emmy in 2021), Winslet partnered with the network for two additional limited series.
In her next ventures, the actress is set to star in Trust, an adaptation of Hernan Diaz’s novel set in the 1920s and 1930s Wall Street. Moreover, she will star in The Regime, focusing on the last year of an authoritarian regime as it begins to crumble.
The Regime marks Winslet’s third original series with HBO. In this new venture, she will portray the chancellor of an undisclosed European nation.
Recently, the co-founder of the charity Golden Hat Foundation reflected on what she once accepted as normal in the industry but now sees as small cruelties. Despite this, she still harbors a major regret about her past intimate scenes.
