HBO’s Euphoria became a sensation all over the world shortly after its release. But it looks like the ethereal charm of the show that otherwise worked on everyone else, hasn’t particularly appealed to Jenna Ortega. Well, if she hasn’t watched it yet then she might as well leave it be given how there’s no guarantee whether the third season will even air in the first place.

If anything, sources claim that the award-winning show might just not get renewed for a new season with a thick fog of controversies clouding over the creator. And it certainly doesn’t help that Sam Levinson is also said to be embroiled in an unsavory feud with one of the cast members of Euphoria too. Under such circumstances, the show’s future has thus started to look quite bleak.

Jenna Ortega Isn’t A Euphoria Fan

The famous Wednesday star who recently broke multiple records with her new Netflix horror-comedy series admitted that she hadn’t watched a single episode of Euphoria yet, a show that every other person seemed to be hooked onto.

But Ortega isn’t to blame for not swooning over the Zendaya-led drama series because she’s just more of a film geek than she is a TV person. “I don’t watch a lot of TV,” the Scream actress admitted. “I’m just more interested in films.”

Ironically enough though, Jenna Ortega actually looks up to Zendaya, or at least a younger version of her did. Recently, a video of a young Ortega expressing her admiration toward the Primetime Emmy award-winning actress resurfaced on the internet, wherein the former remarked Zendaya to be a “great role model for young girls.”

With the way things are going though, it’s hard to tell if Euphoria will see the light of day in the form of a new season. And if it does, will it’s otherwise vehement popularity continue to be so?

Rumors Claim Euphoria Might Not Come Back for Season 3

Filmmaker and actor Sam Levinson, who was also the screenwriter behind HBO’s glamorously gritty show, Euphoria, has received yet another blow to his reputation, this time, for his new show titled The Idol. Certain production sources who talked to Rolling Stone concerning the same claimed that Levinson pushed all boundaries with The Idol with the show even being compared to “torture porn.”

Starring Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd, the show has raised some massive red flags and concerns, not only about the nature of its plot but also about the tawdry conditions of the set. And in light of all such events, it’s looking more and more difficult for Euphoria to return for a brand new season with Levinson’s name attached to it.

However, this isn’t the first time the 38-year-old director’s character is being questioned or his actions are being tagged as controversial. Back when Euphoria‘s season 2 was dropped, rumors following a feud between Barbie Ferreira (Kat) and Levinson had been floating around everywhere. Not to mention, various female stars, including Sydney Sweeney, Martha Kelly, and Chloe Cherry from the show itself, mentioned how the excessive amount of nude scenes in Euphoria made each of them grossly uncomfortable in some way or another.

Given how Levinson’s reputation is only getting more sullied, renewing Euphoria for a season 3 might just not be in the cards for HBO right now.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Euphoria can be streamed on HBO Max.
