Kentaro Miura Revealed Casca’s Future in Berserk

Young Animal ZERO conducted a special interview with Kentaro Miura in 2019 which was translated and shared by @DemiFiendRSA on X. During the interview, Miura expressed his excitement for Casca finally waking up and how it will impact the upcoming narrative of Berserk.

Miura stated:

“I’m also filled with emotion. However, Casca’s real problem has started from now on….She herself should analyze, understand and solve what happened to her. She should confront what Griffith or the monsters did. In other words, I guess the process is necessary for Casca’s recovery.”

According to Kentaro Miura, Casca’s journey after gaining consciousness required her to find out by herself about what happened to her and how Griffith, the main antagonist of Berserk was involved in all of this. This process would help Casca with her recovery and will also become a great storyline for the next phase of Berserk.

Kentaro Miura Had Set Up the Perfect Base for Studio Gaga

In the interview, Miura stated that the fans should be prepared for the struggles Casca will go through because her journey will not be easy. He even pointed out that because she was a human, he had to set the base around the experience of a human in such situations.

Miura stated:

“We expected a kind of route ‘she’ll be fully recovered once she regains her consciousness’ but an easy way out isn’t allowed for the characters in Berserk. I think you also should be prepared for it. It’s like that because I draw humans. I should depict well what humans would do in this situation to make the story appealing.”

After Miura died, Studio Gaga was easily able to follow the directions set by the creator. They brilliantly portrayed Casca’s situation and how it affected Guts and his love for Casca. Although it was not the major plotline of the series, it did help Berserk and Studio Gaga to form a story around it and use it to draw new adventures for the Black Swordsman Party.
