Ricky Gervais Joked About Leonardo DiCaprio’s Dating Pattern at Golden Globes
When it comes to hosting major award ceremonies, few do it better than Ricky Gervais, who presented the Golden Globes in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and again in 2016 and 2020. However, it was his 2020 monologue that remains the most iconic, as he didn’t hold back from taking shots at everyone in the room, including Leonardo DiCaprio.
After joking about Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman‘s 3-hour runtime, Gervais took a dig at DiCaprio, who was dating Morrone at the time, stating: “Leonardo DiCaprio attended the premiere, and by the end, his date was too old for him.” Furthermore, he controversially added: “Even Prince Andrew was like, ‘Come on mate.'”
However, the Inception star took the joke in good humor, as he was seen laughing after Gervais’s remark, and interestingly, the comedian wasn’t too off with his prediction about DiCaprio’s then-date.
