Harrison Ford is one of the most iconic actors in Hollywood, who has been in the industry since 1966. The actor has stayed relevant after all these years, and fans around the globe remember him for numerous roles, but most of them remember him for his role as the thrill-seeking, and artifact-collecting archaeologist, Indiana Jones.

Harrison Ford’s first appearance as Indiana Jones made him widely popular as his portrayal of the character was original, and viewers of all ages would enjoy the character. The Star Wars actor is set to appear in one more Indiana Jones sequel titled Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. And he has teased the fans, that this installment in the franchise would knock their socks off.

Harrison Ford Hypes Up Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Prior to the release of the sequel, the crew of the film came up with a featurette to create a buzz for the upcoming sequel of the franchise. In the featurette, Harrison Ford was joined by James Mangold, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Kathleen Kennedy, the President of Lucasfilm. The featurette is dedicated as a tribute to Ford for his legendary role of Indiana Jones which he has started playing since 1981. And, fans would be teary-eyed because this upcoming film would be the actor’s last portrayal of his iconic role, as he will be stepping down from the role.

James Mangold shared how Indiana Jones as a franchise is immensely loved by the fans, and how over the years, the films have collected all sorts of emotions from the cast and fans of the franchise.

“We love the cause and effect, we love the tripwire of events. All these pieces fit together to make the lightning in a bottle of an Indiana Jones film.”

The scene changed, and it featured the actor in some of his most iconic scenes from the installments, where was seen fighting with the bad guys, and then it showed glimpses from the upcoming movie such as the tuk-tuk chase, and a train fight. Harrison Ford promised that the last installment will be the best film in the entire franchise. and the video ends.

“I felt good. It felt that we had made a film that the audience deserved. I feel confident that we’re going to knock their socks off.”

The Fugitive actor will turn 81 this 13th of July 2023, and the actor has shared that after this film as Indiana Jones, he would love to take a break from the character.

Harrison Ford Bids Adieu To Indiana Jones

During a press conference, the Indiana Jones actor was asked if he would like to continue playing the character and if the sequel would retire him, to which he replied that he would take a break from the character despite enjoying it so much.

“Is it not evident? I need to sit down and rest a little bit. I love to work, and I love this character, and I love what it brought into my life, and that’s all I can say.”

The actor added, that the fifth installment was made to “round up the story,” and he expressed how grateful he was for the opportunities, he was provided to work in good films.

“Everything has come together to support me in my old age, and I love the work. So I just want to work and I want to tell stories, good stories, and I have been so lucky in my life to have that opportunity.”

Harrison Ford continued and shared that he was impressed with the film’s CGI effects, calling it “very realistic” as it made him look younger, but he does not think of being young again to portray the role.

“But I don’t look back and say, ‘I wish I was that guy again, I’m real happy with age — I love being older. It was great to be young. I could be dead, and I’m still working.”

The film will be premiering in the theatres next month, and fans would be heartbroken as they have been watching the actor since 1981, playing the role. Moreover, the film holds sentimental values, reminding them of different phases of their lives, and giving them bittersweet emotions. Though the series is ending, Harrison Ford would forever be cherished for his iconic role and fans are not ready for it.
