The days of Dua Lipa being a mystery are over, with the pop icon ushering in a new chapter of her career as she shared her stance on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. Lipa was one of many celebs, including Joaquin Phoenix, Cate Blanchett, and Bradley Cooper, who urged President Joe Biden to seek a cease-fire in Israel’s war on Hamas by signing a petition back in October.
Her statements come after Noah Schnapp was bombarded with backlash online after social media users alleged he had liked a video mocking Palestinian victims in Gaza.
Dua Lipa Emphasized All Life Is Precious
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Dua Lipa finally let her fans into her dreams and anxieties, as she dropped her mysterious persona, which might’ve had to deal with her tumultuous life behind the curtains. And while pouring light on herself, the pop singer also shared her stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict, mentioning her sympathy for all the victims of this devastating conflict. Although Lipa clarified she doesn’t condone Hamas’ actions, she stressed that many innocent lives are being lost in Gaza, lamenting that not enough world leaders are calling for a humanitarian cease-fire.
“And I have to say this: I don’t condone what Hamas is doing… Every life is precious. I feel so bad for every Israeli life lost and what happened on Oct. 7. At the moment, what we have to look at is how many lives have been lost in Gaza, and the innocent civilians, and the lives that are just being lost. There are just not enough world leaders that are taking a stand and speaking up about the humanitarian crisis that’s happening, the humanitarian cease-fire that has to happen.”
While Dua Lipa has been lauded by her fans following her compassionate take on the matter, emphasizing all life is precious, the response to Schnapp from fans has been less than stellar.
Noah Schnapp Attempts to Damage Control Amidst Severe Backlash
After being blasted by fans online, Noah Schnapp did come forward to address the backlash, stating that his “thoughts and beliefs have been so far misconstrued.” Schnapp, who explained that he has learned a lot by having a conversation with his Palestinian friends, stressed that he equally hopes for an end to the loss of innocent lives. He said (via Variety),
“One of the takeaways I’ve had is that we all hope for the same things, that being those innocent people still being held hostage in Gaza to be returned to their families, and equally hope for an end to the loss of innocent life in Palestine — so many of those people being women and children, and it’s horrible to see.”

While it can’t be said for sure if Schnapp’s comments will help dilute the hot water that he has found himself in or not, like Lipa, most hope the conflict comes to a halt, putting an end to the loss of innocent lives.
