Brendan Fraser Was Broken Physically While Doing His Stunts

Brendan Fraser recently talked about his past movies and how they had all taken a lot of effort to film because of his choice of doing his own stunts. The actor revealed how working with a fit body led him to being his own stuntman. It left him broken and bruised by a lot. It got so bad that he needed surgeries to repair all the harm he endured.

“Absolutely, there was self-loathing. I think on some level I felt I deserved [a beating] and wanted to be the one who got in the first punch.”

The impact that movies like The Mummy and George of the Jungle had on him physically was not the best and yet he continued doing his stunts. The only thing that helped him through was the thought that he would get better soon. For him, each day on set was a day for him to slowly assemble himself, piece by piece, and walk onto the scenes as if his body wasn’t aching a bunch.
