The entrepreneur and Academy Award-winning actress, Gwyneth Paltrow, doesn’t seem to be having a very pleasant 2023. After facing backlash for her detox salad recipe and her wellness routine, she is now entangled in a lawsuit for an incident that took place back in 2016. A retired optometrist, Terry Sanderson, is suing the Iron Man actress for $300,000.
He claims that a skiing incident that happened in 2016, has caused lasting physical injuries to him. However, Paltrow is now claiming that she was a victim in the accident and that Sanderson crashed into her on her way down, and that she felt violated during the incident.
Gwyneth Paltrow Felt Violated During the Ski Incident
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow told her side of the story in court on Friday. She shared some traumatic details about the incident claiming that it was actually Terry Sanderson who crashed into her on her way down the slopes. Paltrow shared that she was confused after the crash as to what was happening and if all of it was “a practical joke.”
“I was skiing and two skis came between my skis, forcing my legs apart, and then there was a body pressing against me and there was a very strange grunting noise.”
The Shallow Hal star claimed that she felt violated by having someone’s body pressed against her back. She also said that Sanderson’s acquaintance, Greg Ramone, is lying and not telling the truth. Paltrow claimed that it would not have been possible for him to identify Sanderson and her in ski gear with their helmets on.
Gwyneth Paltrow Thought Terry Sanderson Had Minor Injuries
Gwyneth Paltrow was firm that she was not the person responsible for the incident. When asked if she inquired about the injuries Sanderson may have suffered from the crash, she said, “When you’re the victim of a crash … your psychology is not necessarily thinking about the person who perpetrated it.”
Terry Sanderson’s attorney shared that the incident has had some lasting effects on his life and relationships. He claimed that his “comprehension has got down, and despite trying a couple of times, he has been unable to go skiing after the incident.” His attorney claimed that Sanderson suffered a “brain injury, four broken ribs, and other serious injuries” in the crash.
However, the Sliding Doors star claims that she thought he only had “minor injuries.” During the previous disposition, Paltrow claimed that she “froze” after the incident. She shared that both of them came crashing down, and their bodies were “spooning,” and she just tried getting away as quickly as possible.
