Taylor-Johnson is already under pressure and he has made it clear in his latest interview that he finds it really hard to please the studios as well as the fans. Actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who is all set to portray the titular character in Sony’s upcoming movie, Kraven the Hunter, has opened up about the pressure he is currently facing. Taylor-Johnson is not new to the Marvel Universe, as he played Pietro Maximoff in the MCU in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, however, Kraven the Hunter is entirely different. This time, Taylor-Johnson is in a tight spot as he will be playing one of the most popular Marvel villains of all time. The actor claimed in an interview with The Rolling Stone UK,

“Taking on a Sony / Marvel movie is a different challenge altogether – There’s the story, the character, the role; that’s one thing. But then you also step into a world where you’re dealing with a studio and a franchise – or possible franchises, though let’s not get ahead of ourselves. So, they’re rolling the dice on me, in a sense, which is a lovely thing. But you’ve got to appease the studio, please the audience, and do what’s dignified for you as an actor. I find all of that super challenging.”

As per The Wrap, Aaron Taylor-Johnson bagged the role of Sergei Kravinoff / Kraven the Hunter roughly three years ago. The film’s production was slowed down due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike but now the film has a release date: August 30, 2024.

In the interview, Taylor-Johnson also talked about various movies and TV shows produced by popular movie franchises nowadays, adding that they take away the fun of going to the cinemas,

“I think there was something unique about this character, and something grounded – We’ve all had enough of seeing certain studio films, a certain kind of pop culture… where they’re churning out stuff that dilutes wanting to go to the cinema. I wouldn’t have signed onto it if I felt there wasn’t something to really bring to life with this character.”

Judging by his words, the actor seems sure that he can bring out the true potential of the character. This year seems to be quite happening for the actor as rumors claimed he was offered the role of James Bond. Taylor-Johnson has delivered some outstanding performances in the past. His work in films like Bullet Train (2022), Nocturnal Animals (2016), and Tenet (2020) just proves that he is quite talented.
