She detailed all this and the tumultuous period in a 2022 interview with Variety. However, in the midst of the chitchat, she also talked about the Harley Quinn series. In the DC Universe produced show, the actress voiced the Queenpin of Gotham City, Harley Quinn.

But one element that she absolutely loved about the show was that she was free to curse as much as she wanted. She added, “I get to cuss my brains out in a booth every week. Like, who doesn’t want to do that?”

Cuoco had talked about the adult animated show earlier in 2019 as well, even before its premiere date was announced (via People). She added that being able to use strong language in this new role was a liberating experience for her after maintaining a clean image on The Big Bang Theory.

Further, she also noted that despite the sharp contrast between the two roles, the transition felt seamless to her. But the actress wasn’t without her doubts for the role. Cuoco added that initially, she was apprehensive about her voice being easily recognized by fans. Further, she feared that her version of the character might not align with Harley Quinn’s traditional New Jersey or Chicago accent.

So, to tackle this, she embraced a new approach, which she described as “Kaley Cuoco voice on crack.” This allowed her to infuse her own personality into the character while staying true to her distinctive vocal style.
