Stranger Things fame actress Millie Bobby Brown established herself as an accomplished actress at a very young age. Having worked on projects like Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong, and the mystery movie Enola Holmes, Brown has won a Screen Actors Guild Award for her portrayal of Eleven in the Netflix series.

During her appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Millie Bobby Brown shared that she almost gave up on acting due to the rejection she had to encounter during an audition process. The actress revealed that before her breakout role in Stranger Things, she had auditioned for a role in HBO series Game of Thrones.
However, unfortunately, she had to face a disheartening rejection, that she didn’t shy away from sharing on air.
“I think I was just very disheartened by the rejection, which is something I tell everyone. Like, this industry is just full of rejection, 24/7. You get far more nos—a lot of nos—before you get a yes. I was auditioning for commercials, for anything, really. I then auditioned for Game of Thrones and I got a ‘no’ for that. Then that’s kind of when I was like, ‘Oh, this is really difficult,’ because I guess I really wanted that role.”
Nevertheless, the actress demonstrated her resilience and forged ahead with the decision. And a few months later, her determination and perseverance paid off.
Millie Bobby Brown opened up on how she landed her first big gig
A few months after the heartbreaking rejection, Brown finally found the light at the end of the tunnel. Reportedly, the actress auditioned for a Netflix show called Montauk, a move that kickstarted her acting career. “Two months later, they just got back to us and was like ‘We’d love to Skype with you.”
And who knew, her Skype audition for the casting became the reason for her renewed excitement for her craft.
“I Skyped with them and, you know, the rest is history, of course. We then named the show Stranger Things, but Montauk was definitely the one that gave me that kind of hope of doing it all again.”
