He started by revealing how he did not like to come to South Korea often due to several instances of ‘bad luck’. Taking an example, he revealed that once, when he was working on a project there, something horrible happened to him.

“I got into an accident while working as an actor in South Korea,” he explained. “While filming overseas, a building collapsed and I fell six metres down, breaking two vertebrae, my breastbone, an ankle, and half of my Achilles tendon.”

He was involved in a building collapse that resulted in him falling from a height of six meters. Considering how this was not a short distance, he did sustain some injuries, shattering two vertebrae, his breastbone, and one of his ankles, and hurting half of his Achilles tendon. However, he did admit that the damage could have been a lot worse. He credited dodging more injuries due to his ‘strong bones’.

Eternals Wasn’t The Best Example Of Ma Dong-seok’s Skills

Eternals has gone down as one of the worst films to come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was criticized for many things, including pacing, too many characters, CGI, and even the villains. While this fact has been accepted by the fandom, it is important to note that the cast did not have anything to do with the movie’s failure, being full of some of the most talented people in the world.

Sang-Hwa in Train to Busan

With Ma Dong-seok being among them, it is important to remember that he is one of the most respected, talented, and successful actors in South Korea; a country that is known for creating excellent films. On top of the iconic Roundup films, he was an important part of the massively successful 2016 film, Train to Busan.

Additionally, he was also in Unstoppable, The Villagers, Champion, and Ashfall, proving that his skills lie outside of playing superheroes.
