In a recently viral BTS video from The Karate Kid, the fans also got to see how Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith, and Will Smith formed a sweet bond on set. The fans were delighted to see the Men In Black actor jokingly calling out Chan in a scene where Jaden Smith’s Dre Parker almost fell into the water.

Will Smith raised massive headlines when he slapped comedian Chris Rock hard on the Oscars stage after the latter joked about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. It generated immense controversy worldwide and the I Am Legend star apologized for his actions across several media interviews.
Despite not being as serious as the 2022 Oscars incident, Will Smith also seemed like a protective family man when he jokingly called out Jackie Chan on the set of The Karate Kid. Both Smith and his wife were attached to the 2010 reboot as producers.
In the BTS video posted on Instagram by @cineatomy, we witnessed the filming of an intense training scene involving Chan’s Mr. Han and Jaden Smith’s Dre Parker. The scene involved the Rush Hour star holding Jaden Smith in a complicated position where he almost fell into the water. But the entire crew laughed when Will Smith jokingly said, “I got my eye on you, Jackie Chan!” after the scene wrapped up.
Although it was done in jest, the moment earned varied responses from fans. While some fans pointed out that Smith should not have spoken like that with the legend, others laughed at how it weirdly resembles the “Keep my wife’s name out of your f– mouth” from the 2022 Oscars incident.

It cannot be denied that the 2010 Jackie Chan film acted as a major milestone for the young Jaden Smith. After his widely appreciated role in The Pursuit of Happyness alongside his father, The Karate Kid was another significant stepping stone in his career.
According to Will Smith, their moments with Jackie Chan during the shoot of The Karate Kid had a profound impact on his family. The Independence Day star took over to an Instagram post on Chan’s 70th Birthday and posted a series of images taken on the set of the 2010 remake. Smith wrote:
Happy 70th (wow) Birthday to My Guy @jackiechan!! In addition to making some of my FAVORITE movies of all time, creating some of the CRAZIEST moments that have ever been captured on film — I thank you most for helpin’ to raise Jaden.
Will Smith added that besides raising Jaden Smith, the Police Story actor also had an “eternal impact” on his family.
Presently Jackie Chan is also working on an upcoming film in the Karate Kid franchise that stars him alongside Ralph Macchio. The fans are incredibly hyped up to see how the makers unite the world of the OG film with the remake. Moreover, it would be also exciting to see if the makers establish any connection between the upcoming film and the Cobra Kai series.
