Call of Duty is regarded as one of the best gaming titles the world has ever seen. With titles like the OG Modern Warfare Series, Black Ops Series, and many more, this game reached new heights. Be it the storyline or its unique gameplay mechanics, this franchise has it all.

But right now, things are not the same anymore. This fan-favorite gaming series is losing its essence day by day. The game seems to not be fitting for the older fans. That’s exactly what a veteran Call of Duty fan has expressed as he is about to retire from his beloved franchise.

Recently, a dedicated fan expressed his dissatisfaction through a Reddit post (now deleted) about his beloved franchise. After a long one-year break, this player finally decided to rack up some kills on the game in multiplayer mode. However, due to the noisy and overcrowded user interface, the fan didn’t even find the matches.

He thinks the game is not for older people anymore, as he misses the old classic Call of Duty interface, where finding every aspect like matches, ranks, servers, and many more was too easy. Now, the game is only suitable for ‘young people’ who are accustomed to the complicated and bloated user interface. That’s why he has decided to call it a day for the franchise.

Initially, Call of Duty was subtle yet exciting to play. Nowadays, the game is filled with microtransactions, a huge number of modes, different customizations, and more! This complicated theme might be cherished by new and young players, but those who have been playing this game since the ‘good’ol’ days might find it pretty hard to get habituated to the rapid changes.

Isn’t Call of Duty Fun Anymore?

Not just this fan, but another dedicated fan has also vented out his disgust regarding the franchise through a Reddit post. This fan is one of the most devoted players who started his Call of Duty journey with Black Ops 1. He then went to get his hands on the OG installments as well. Hence, this fan has 35+ days of playtime on Black Ops 2 and about 15+ days on Ghosts.

But after that, according to the fan, everything went downhill. The game can’t be played casually or for fun anymore. With increasing difficulty and competitiveness, the game is becoming more stressful day by day.

Just like the previous fan, this fan also thinks the franchise should refrain from adding less stuff, as the more stuff they add, the more unfun it gets. He is hoping the company will leave Call of Duty very simply like it was back then.
