Scarlett Johansson is one of the most famous actresses in the world. However, unlike most famous celebrities and actors, she likes to live more of a low-key life away from the media. The American actress first rose to fame back in 1996 for her role in the drama film, Manny & Lo. Johansson is also the highest-grossing box office star of all time as her movies have made over $14.3 billion worldwide.

Scarlett Johansson was terrified of wearing the costume of Black Widow

Although the outfit of Black Widow is still isn’t outrageous as some of the other comic book characters in comparison, it still was absurd enough to terrify Scarlett Johansson before she made her debut in MCU in Ironman 2. The actress even opened up about seeing her character’s costume for the first time. She said,

“I knew it was going to be some kind of sexy unitard, because I had researched the character in the comics. I’ve never worn anything like it before, so I had a freak-out moment that lasted about half a day, but then I said ‘Okay, time to suck it up’ and just went full force into getting in shape to wear the costume and perform the physical action so it looked just right.”

The Ghost World actress has worn even more outrageous outfits in the past

It is a lesser-known fact to people but Black Widow isn’t the only comic book character that Scarlett Johansson has played on the big screen. Johansson also played the role of Silken Floss in Frank Miller’s 2008 superhero movie, The Spirit. Johansson played the role of an accomplice of Samuel L. Jackson’s character in the movie, The Octopus.

The Scoop actress had an even more outrageous outfit in The Spirit. Johansson had to wear a Nazi uniform for her role in the movie and that seems even more absurd when you realize that she is of Jewish heritage. Even the actress opened up about wearing such a ridiculous outfit in a movie once in an interview. She said,

I felt squeamish, yeah. When I first put it on, it was like – you never think you’re going to wear a swastika armband. But it wasn’t a Halloween costume I put on. That might be a little bit more disturbing. It was – I understood where its place was in the film.
