Eddie Murphy Admits Filming Beverly Hills Cop 4 Was Hard
Eddie Murphy will be Axel again after so many years, which made fans wonder how well he could do stunts in the film. After all, Murphy is currently 62 years old and is certainly not the athletic person he used to be three decades ago.
While speaking to People about what it was like returning to the franchise, Murphy noted that he had to get very physical during the shooting and it was definitely taxing on his whole body as he isn’t in his 20s anymore.
“It was a hard one. I did Axel Foley when I was in my 20s. I am not in my 20s anymore. It was an action movie. So it was a rough one. But we got through it.”
It is needless to say Eddie Murphy has won the hearts of fans thanks to his incredible dedication to his craft as he performed so many strenuous stunts at his age for Beverly Hills Cop 4 – just so that fans could enjoy the nostalgia-filled trip again.
Eddie Murphy Might Not Come Back For Beverly Hills Cop 5 Due To Extensive Injuries
It has already been established that Eddie Murphy isn’t physically as active or capable as he once was. While speaking to People, the legendary actor revealed that he sustained injuries to his back and even wore a knee brace.
“It’s a really physical movie and I had to do some physical stuff…. I like to be on the couch, I don’t like to be jumping over and shooting and running. And I had to do some jumping and shooting and running. And as a result… at the end of the movie, I had a knee brace and my back is messed up. But the movie is gonna be special.”
Currently, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley lacks an official release date. The teaser poster for the film hints at a summer 2024 release on Netflix, nearly three decades after the original premiered in theaters. However, the exact date might be revealed within the next few months.
