Once a power couple of the 90s, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise met on the sets of 1990’s Days of Thunder. And soon, in December 1990, they tied the knot in a small, intimate ceremony. While being married, the duo have always spoken highly of each other, praising each other whenever they could.
Even after their relationship ended in 2001, they maintained secrecy about what really went wrong with their marriage and continued to speak of each other warmly (see US Magazine). While Cruise has been more to keep things private, he did give a rare glance at his previous relationship with his three-time co-star in Marie Claire Magazine back in 2003 (via Entertainment Weekly).

While the Top Gun star did once reveal to Vanity Fair that he was still in disbelief and overjoyed with his time with Cruz, he opened up more about his love with the Spanish actress in Marie Claire Magazine. Having stated back then that he had no plans to marry her, Cruise had revealed he enjoyed doing romantic stuff for his partner.
I surprise Penelope with different things. She’ll come home, and I’ll have her favorite kind of food made, have a bath drawn. I like doing stuff like that. She likes my food, so I cook for her. It’s always the little things I like in a relationship.
Even after all these years, it is a bit shocking to see Cruise open up about his former relationships and his ‘romantic gestures’ for them.
