“I had my moment”: Charlize Theron Relished Torturing Producer Who Tried to Make Her Feel Uncomfortable With Inappropriate Audition That Made Marvel Star Furious

When she was a rookie in the industry, she recalled an infuriating incident that happened at a movie producer’s house. It took place when she went to give her first ever audition before she kickstarted her acting journey.

Back in a 2019 appearance at The Howard Stern Show, Charlize Theron recalled her first ever audition in Hollywood which happened when she was around 19 and the details she unfolded would chill your spines. She shared that a modeling agent asked her to go to an unnamed famous producer’s house on Saturday at 9 pm in Los Angeles. While it would make anyone alarmed, she eventually decided to give it a try. She arrived only to find the interviewer barefoot in his pajamas.

She recalled,

“I should’ve [turned around and left]. I didn’t. But he had a very healthy ego, he felt very good about himself.”

She mentioned,

“There was some kind of muzak playing in the house. He sat very close to me. That was strange. The drinking bothered me. I was like, ‘This doesn’t feel right.’”

Though she decided to keep things strictly professional by asking him if she could read the scripts, she mentioned that he was only interested in talking to her. The situation started to go bizarre at some point.

“And then at one point he put his hand on my knee and that’s when I just went, ‘Oof.’”

At that point, she was unable to think of anything and left his house.

“You just go blank. Like you don’t know what to do, but I left. I don’t even know how I got out of the house, but I left.”

The MCU star was furious by thinking of the time since she was unable to say anything to him at the time.

“I was so angry with myself that I didn’t say something. I was like, ‘I’m not that kind of girl, why did I not tell him to go f–k himself like, it made me so angry.”

She knew what she was not right since she was unable to stand up for herself. But it didn’t stop her to face the same producer years later.

The Atomic Blonde actress eventually faced the same movie producer years later when she made a name of herself among the top stars in Hollywood. Eight years after the incident, she made sure to give him back the uncomfortable moment he put her at that time.

“I went purely just to have my moment where he said, ‘Nice to meet you,’ and I said, ‘No, we’ve met before.’ And he had no recollection of it.”

She continued,

“I went down the list. I said, ‘It was 9 p.m. on a Saturday at your house, you were wearing pajamas.’ I went down the list. I had my moment. He said, ‘Wow, I do not remember that.’ ”
