Royal women have always been subjected to toxic British Media, be it Princess Diana (before her death), Kate Middleton, or the current royal consort, Camilla. All of them have dealt with intrusive reporters and flashing lights. When Meghan Markle married Prince Harry, she and Kate Middleton were constantly pitted against each other in the media, comparing their outfits, demeanor, etc. They picked and read into all kinds of movements, attitude, expressions, everything.

In interviews and other platforms, both Meghan Markle and The prince have been critical of the media’s treatment of them. The Duchess of Sussex on many occasions has raised concerns about her children being subjected to such brutal and insensitive media tendencies.

Meghan Markle is the first mixed race, non-British individual to become a part of the British royal family. No one expected the transition to be easy; and she got slammed, dunked, and bombarded with lenses and mics. The couple have constantly talked about how roughly they were treated. The insensitive media lead to a lot of mental health issues for them both. They even disclosed in an interview with Oprah that the Royal family discriminated against their kids based on race.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not just stop with the interview, they have a Netflix docuseries where they talk about their journey. In their docuseries Henry Charles Albert David also recalled saying,

“Some of the members of the family were like, ‘Right my wife has been put through that, so why should your girlfriend be treated any differently? Why should you get special treatment? Why should she be different?’” “And I said, ‘The difference here is the race element.’”

The world is divided between fans who believe that Markle and Prince Harry are right, standing up to an obsolete institution. While others have taken to twitter pointing out how the young Royals are lying and fooling the masses, they believe that these are just publicity stunts.

I had no idea the British press was so bigoted. Hell, I was probably bigoted before the relationship with Meghan.
