In an interview with Parade, Leonardo DiCaprio talked about how hard it was to finally quit smoking. The actor shared that he had used nicotine patches once, which is a common method people adopt to quit smoking, but it made things worse for him. He shared,

“I usually don’t [remember my dreams]. But when I used a nicotine patch when I was trying to quit smoking, I did have bloodcurdling nightmares of mass murders, and I woke up in the middle of the night and had to take the patches off.”

The actor even confessed in the interview that he would have picked death over nightmares if he were given a choice. He soon decided to stop wearing the patches and find other alternatives. After this, the actor started using electronic cigarettes, which are for now considered somewhat less hazardous than cigarettes.

Leonardo DiCaprio once made a photographer delete a photo of him

As already mentioned above, the actor was often photographed smoking by the paparazzi. In one such instance, he made a photographer delete his photo so that his mother wouldn’t find out about his addiction. Photographer Steve Eichner, while talking to Page Six revealed he captured DiCaprio along with Johnny Depp while they were working together on What’s Eating Gilbert Grapes. In the image, the Titanic actor, who was 19 at the time was buying a cigarette along with his co-star.

The actor then approached the photographer and asked him to delete the said image before it got published and his mother found out about his smoking habits. Seems like later he grew more comfortable with his mother knowing about his smoking, as he has even smoked in the middle of interviews.

Well, the actor has now left smoking cigarettes but still indulges in it at parties, as spotted in occasional photos.
