Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Diet Helped Viola Davis Get In Shape
In 2013, Hugh Jackman and Viola Davis co-starred in the action thriller, Prisoners. During the same year, the Real Steel star was also preparing to take on his iconic X-Men character for his standalone film, The Wolverine. This titular role required Jackman to bulk up considerably. The star who went on an extreme diet and exercise routine, inspired his Prisoners co-star Viola Davis as well to get in shape.
Davis spoke about her experience working with Jackman, and also revealed that she got first-hand tips to follow the star’s famous Wolverine diet which involved 8 hours of eating and 16 hours of fasting. According to Jackman in an interview with Variety, the routine worked very well for Davis.
“She overheard me in the makeup chair and about a month later she came to me and said, ‘I have done it and it really works.’ I have done it for the last two years. I’m finished and I don’t need to be on any diet but I am still doing it.”
One of Jackman’s pointers for Davis that helped her considerably with regard to her health, involved the mantra of eating what one wants and not when one wants.

Hugh Jackman Is Confident Of Being The Best Wolverine Yet
Hugh Jackman has personified his famous character Wolverine in over nine films and has proved that he is the perfect choice for the deadly clawed superhero who was first introduced to audiences in the X-Men films. Jackman’s intense physical performance and charisma ensured that viewers were obsessed with his character in every film.
The star is now set to revisit his iconic role in Deadpool 3 starring Ryan Reynolds, which is one of the most anticipated films of 2024. Speaking of how Wolverine became easier for him to internalize and portray with experience, Jackman said in an interview with Variety,
“A little part of me now thinks I’d be better at it. Is that arrogance of age or something? Wolverine’s a tortured character — more tortured than me. But I always get the feeling of him being comfortable in his own skin. And I feel more comfortable in my own skin now, even though it’s messier.”
With the video of both Reynolds and Jackman teasing audiences for what is to come, Deadpool 3 looks all set to rule the box office with two of Hollywood’s biggest stars at the helm.
