Starring Brad Pitt and Harrison Ford in a police-criminal chase movie, Pitt had made the script for The Devil’s Own. After finding a director worthy of making the movie, Harrison Ford complained that his character was very straightforward and too bland as compared to Pitt’s character.

“Brad had this complicated character, and I wanted a complication on my side so that it wasn’t just a good-and-evil battle, and that’s when I came up with the bad-shooting thing.”

Ford suggested that in the movie, his partner shoots a person illegally which puts him in a dilemma whether to continue his career or not. Although this added a layer of depth to his character, Brad Pitt and Harrison Ford found themselves at a crossroads since it wasn’t Brad Pitt’s script anymore.

“I worked with a writer — but then all the sudden we’re shooting and we didn’t have a script that Brad and I agreed on. Each of us had different ideas about it. I understand why he wanted to stay with his point of view, and I wanted to stay with my point of view — or I was imposing my point of view, and it’s fair to say that that’s what Brad felt.”

In the end, the movie received average earnings at the box office and currently stands at a rating of 6.2/10 on IMDB and 35% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Devil’s Own is currently available to stream on Netflix.
