Indiana Jones 5 is all set to present Phoebe Waller-Bridge as a female sidekick to the titular character who’s far different from the girls seen in the franchise so far. Helena played by Waller-Bridge is shown as the estranged goddaughter of the Harrison Ford character. Working alongside, the renowned archaeologist, Helena will also be seen pulling off some amazing stunts in the film. But nothing was more memorable for the actress than punching Ford’s character in the face.

After a lackluster response received by The Kingdom of Crystal Skull, the iconic character will return after 15 years for one last time in the James Mangold directorial. This time, the audience will also experience a transition as there have been several changes to the Indiana Jones franchise as a whole. The most notable one is the absence of both Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.

In one of the most talked-about scenes from the upcoming movie, Phoebe Waller-Bridge‘s character knocks out Harrison Ford after punching him in the face. According to the actress, filming that scene was a ‘glorious’ experience for her.

“It’s such a brilliant cut, and it’s such an excellently scripted moment. And particularly because there’s so much fighting and left hooks and all that stuff all the way through the film, when she’s just fighting the bad guys. But to have to level a punch to the hero of the film… It was glorious, because it was so funny.”

When The Iron Lady actress broke down the scene to Entertainment Weekly, they assured her that it was one of the most cheered moments during the Indiana Jones 5 premiere. Responding to it, the 37-year-old English actress also expressed her concern as she wants the audience to understand the depth behind the act.

“Underneath, it really had heart and emotion. And that’s really a testament to Jim [Mangold, director] and the Butterworths [Jez and John-Henry] for writing a moment like that. I hope the audience understands why she does it.”

The actress had also pulled off several other stunt sequences for the film and spoke on how the set-pieces were wild and each one provided her with joy and thrill.

Talking about her action sequences, Waller-Bridge confessed that even though it was not an easy thing to pull off, the bruises she received were nothing compared to the experience. She remarked that the bruises were her mark of honor’ for what she did.

“I got to jump out of a plane. And I got to jump into water, and roll out from under things, and jump over things. So there was a lot to do, and I was completely covered in bruises. Each one was a mark of honor for the day.”

The No Time to Die screenwriter also added that she got the chance to drive a tuk-tuk for the movie which was very fun and exciting. The Dial of Destiny has garnered quite a mixed response in the early screenings and despite not being perfect, the ending provided to the character is satisfying.
