You’ll be surprised, but it’s been eight years since Niantic debuted Pokemon Go way back in 2016. Over these years, the developers have added over 1000 Pokemon as creatures that can be found and captured while walking outside in the real world! There’s something for everyone.
While Pokemon Go still stands as one of the most popular mobile games, trainers have been a bit disappointed lately, with a series of issues plaguing the game and Niantic not owning up to their faults. However, Niantic has finally discovered the right formula, which must become the new norm for the title!
Pokemon Go Trainers Loved Extra Candy Bonus
There’s no doubt that Pokemon Go‘s Strength Steel event was a phenomenal way to conclude the month of July. The special event featured the brand new shiny Togedemaru as well as many Steel-type Pokemon in the wild, raids, and the debut of Mega Lucario, which is now the number one fighting-type Pokemon in the game!
However, the most epic part of the event was the catching bonus. It’s not the first time we’ve seen this one in particular added to the game, but this bonus rewards you for hitting better throws. Instead of getting three Candies per catch, you received double from Nice Throws or Better!
That’s not all! Trainers who were Level 31 or above also had an increased chance of getting Candy XL from catching event-themed Pokemon with a Nice Throw or better.
Bonus candy for better throws made throwing fun

Trainers absolutely loved this event bonus and made massive candy gains, which allowed them to max powerful Pokemon such as Beldum and Skarmory. Sadly, this bonus has now ended, and we might not ever see it again.
However, considering Niantic’s latest run and the efforts to make things right in the game, players are hoping that we will see this particular bonus become the norm in the future.

It’s a known fact that the game feels quite stale once players hit Level 50. However, for some, this reward was the reason to keep the grind going.

Many in the community hope that Niantic makes such Pokemon Go rewards an everyday thing to keep players engaged.

It’s great to see that Niantic is finally making the right decisions after all the chaos Pokemon Go players had to go through in the previous updates. Let’s hope they listen to players again and make this feature a norm for our everyday play!
