However, this is not the first instance when the 65-year-old actor has attracted attention for his opposition to public health beliefs. Earlier, Smith made headlines when he announced his decision not to attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
His decision came amid Yellowstone’s significant recognition in the awards circuit, as it was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Taking to Instagram, he cited the mandatory vaccination requirement for all attendees as the reason for his absence, firmly expressing his stance against vaccination.
Why Did Forrie J. Smith Couldn’t Attend the 2022 SAG Awards?
In 2022, Forrie J. Smith shared an Instagram video telling his fans and followers that he would not be attending the 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards. He explained the requirement of being vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend the award ceremony as the reason for his absence.
“I want to apologize to y’all for not being at the Screen Actors Guild Awards,” he said in the now-deleted Instagram video, as per Variety. He further shared his firm belief against vaccination, stating that he “will not get vaccinated” as he has not undergone such a process since he was a child. He said,
“I mean no offense to anyone. I’m not vaccinated, and it’s a requirement to be vaccinated—I haven’t been vaccinated since I was a little kid. I don’t vaccinate my dogs, I don’t vaccinate my horses.”
Smith asserted his belief that vaccines compromise one’s immunity as the reason for his despise for vaccines. “I just don’t believe in that stuff,” he said. He apologized to his fans for his absence at the 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Forrie J. Smith ‘Kicked Off a Plane’ Upon Refusing to Sit Next to a Masked Person
Forrie J. Smith recently shared a new Instagram video, explaining that he was kicked off a plane and left in Houston after he refused to sit next to a person wearing a mask. “I just got kicked off a plane in … Houston, Texas,” he shared.
The Yellowstone actor shared that he did not feel “comfortable sitting next to somebody with a mask on” and “I’m off the plane.” Further in the video, he mentioned that he had been sitting at the airport for three hours and had been drinking. He said,
“Yeah, I’ve been drinking. I’ve been sitting in the airport for three hours—Yeah, I’m drinking. But I ain’t drunk. But they throwed me off the plane because I’m drunk, because you people won’t stand up and tell everybody what bulls**t this is.”
Forrie J. Smith is known for starring in the Western drama series Yellowstone, portraying the character of Lloyd Pierce. Initially appearing as a recurring character in the first two seasons of the show, his role was later upgraded to a series regular in the following seasons.
